Caring for People
Many
of our members say Heritage is an extended family of people who
care for one another. We share the joys and sorrows that life brings
and seek to make our church the place where people can feel they
belong.
Our pastor makes pastoral care a high priority by:
-- visiting the hospitalized and shut-ins
Our deacons:
-- regularly call on our shut-ins and those hospitalized
-- prepare and serve funeral dinners
-- send cards in recognition of various occasions
-- provide transportation to worship services
The good news of Jesus Christ is shared in our mission. Locally
we provide personal and financial resources for such programs as:
-- the City Mission
-- the Community Pantry System
-- Habitat for Humanity
-- Friendship House
-- Each year we help a needy family at Christmas time
In addition, we support various outside groups and organizations
such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Alcoholics Anonymous through
the use our facilities.
As a church of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), we unite with
Christians from many other churches to spread the good news of Jesus
Christ and to work for peace and justice around the world.
