Deaf Ministry
Our Sunday worship services, which begin at 10:30 AM, are interpreted
in American Sign Language by Frances Beaurivage, a professional
interpreter for more than 20 years.
Heritage Church also hosts meetings of various deaf groups such
as the Southeast Nebraska Coalition of the Deaf, the Friends and
Families of Deaf Children, the Lincoln Association of the Deaf,
as well as other groups. If your group of deaf people needs a place
to meet, please call the church for information at (402) 477-3429.
Raymond Meester, Pastor, is a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA). He also
has four deaf uncles and aunts. While attending seminary in New
Jersey he worked at the state school for the deaf and was awarded
an "Honorary Membership" in the Junior National Association
of the Deaf. Rev. Meester is conversant in sign language. He is
a member of the board of the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and
Hard of Hearing.
