Worship is how we respond to the awe and wonder, the glory, of the Trinitarian God. The Trinity is a mystery and our response is worship.
At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit speaks through the differences, without converting them into sameness. People aren’t invited to give up their languages, their cultures, and convert to the same way of speaking and thinking. God created diversity and we are to celebrate diversity, the diversity blessed by the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
You and me, ordinary people, we ae the kind of people God wants and needs.
The inclusion of the Gentiles is not a reluctant, perfunctory toleration of the new group; full inclusion implies getting to know them, hearing their stories, accepting hospitality from them in their homes, sharing the same table.
