Sunday School
& Bible Study

Our Christian Education programs are geared towards helping us know Jesus Christ better and supporting us as we grow in our knowledge of scripture and relationship with Christ.

Sunday School
Sunday School is a time for us to read stories in the Bible, interpret its meanings, and discover how we can use this information in our everyday lives.
  • We offer youth Sunday School lessons during the academic school year, September - May, for children ages 3 - high school.
  • Multi-age classrooms allow kids young and old to get to know each other.  It also provides an opportunity for older children to be a positive role model and take on leadership roles helping younger kids.
  • Sunday School meets in Calvin Hall at 9:30 am
  • Kids sing songs as a group in the meeting area before heading off to their classrooms
D.U.C.s (Disciples Under Construction)
DUCs are a group of 6 - 12th graders who meet at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings to explore and grow in their faith.  Faith journeys vary for each person so every Sunday morning is different with lessons including:
  • lively discussions on how current topics connect to scripture
  • art projects
  • bible-related games
  • mission-related projects
  • Christian-themed movies
  • cooking projects
The youth meet in the DUCs Room which is next to the Meester Gathering Space on the upper level of the Education Wing.

Confirmation Class
Confirmation class helps youth understand what it means to know Christ and be responsible church members. Our youth typically take this class sometime between 6th - 9th grade.
Bible Study
Our bible study is the perfect balance of new and seasoned followers, sharing and growing from each others' experiences.  Bible study classes are typically offered outside of Sunday activities, and are focused on a topic of discussion. Past offerings of bible study have included topics on:
  • Living the Questions
A more progressive perspective on spiritual life
  • Martin Luther
A cursory glance at the founder of Protestantism….
  • Not Your White Jesus…
A discussion on the tendency to feel superior because of race and how Jesus came to ‘set all people free’ and make us “One in faith”
