Music for Worship at Heritage
Song and music is a powerful expression and celebration of our faith. It is an integral part of our worship service. Music ranges from traditional to contemporary selections, and we primarily utilize the 'Glory to God' hymnals. The music program at Heritage is top-notch, but not exclusive. Anyone is welcome (and encouraged!) to participate in the choirs. Chancel Choir meets at 5:45pm on Wednesday evenings. New members are always welcome.

Chancel Choir
We are a small group of singers with all levels of musical ability who enjoy having a good time together. You do not need to be a member to participate, nor do we require auditions or past singing experience. This is a great way to connect with others in our faith community and you can join at any time. Participate all season, or just for the Christmas Cantata. Rehearsals are typically held on Wednesday evenings in the Sanctuary and new members are always welcome. Check our event calendar for practice dates and times. |
Bell Choir
The handbells perform for special occasions and up to once a month. Participation in the bell choir may be a one-event commitment or on an on-going basis. You do not need to have past experience. Rehearsals are typically held on Wednesday evenings in the Sanctuary and new members (9th grade and older) are always welcome. Rehearsal schedule TBA. Check our event calendar for practice dates and times. |

Special Music
Share your musical gifts and talents, either vocal or instrumental, with us when the choirs are on hiatus. If you'd like to perform on Sundays during the summer, contact the church office at 402-477-3401 or [email protected] and a representative of the Worship team will be in touch. |
Music Education Ministry
Our outreach to our college community involves recruiting university students majoring in music as choir directors. The student directors gain valuable work experience which benefits them upon graduation and we benefit from fresh ideas and enthusiasm in this role. Due to this structure, this position is typically open for applications every two years. |
The Organ
When the new sanctuary was opened, Heritage was privileged to have the first Bedient Organ Company pipe organ ever installed in a church played at the first service. It was Opus No. 4. Opus 1 through 3 for Bedient were all installed in their sales show room. We are fortunate to still hear the sounds of this organ in our services today, although due to age it is in need of repair. |
